"Shooting the Stars"
A night under the stars!

An Introductory to Night Sky and Astro Photography



Learn how to capture stunning night sky photographs and landscapes using your own camera.
Understand the basics of Astro-photography, including settings and techniques.
Explore the art of composing captivating night scenes.


What we will cover
Equipment: Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO for night photography. Understanding different lenses, tripods, and other essential gear.
Composition: Framing and capturing the beauty of the night sky and landscapes.
Tips and Tricks: Practical advice for beginners to enhancing your night photographs.     
  
Workshop Details:
  • Normally held in the Boonah area approximately 50km south of Ipswich
  • Night workshops are put together as enquiries come in, minimum 3 for a group booking session
  • Bring your tripod, camera, remote shutter release or intervalometer if you have one, lenses, spare batteries and memory cards
  • Warm clothing, torch, thermos of coffee/tea and a sense of humor helps 😊

Learn from experience: Over 10 years’ experience, diplomas and certifications in both Photography and Astronomy, capturing night landscapes, city scapes, stars, our moon, nebulas and more.

From $50 per person, minimum 2 hours workshop (quite often longer depending on the weather).
Direction will be given once booking is confimred: We will meet late in the afternoon near the workshop site, then travel a few minutes to the actual location.
* Boonah is approximately 45 km south of Yamanto, other locations may also be selected on the night depending on numbers.

All participants will be emailed full details on what was covered on the night and more upon conclusion of the workshop.
